Back to School! Letter A

Today we got back to school and we were both excited.  Letter A is this week and here are the activities we did today.

 Singing the alphabet song.
Reading over this weeks Bible verse.
Writing practice.  She will do several of these throughout the week
Using unifix cubes to put on the A's

Coloring the cover to her ABC book.  Although, she didn't color very much of it.
 Sorting
Introducing the geoboard to AB.  I made a few shapes with the rubber bands and had her tell me the names.
Here is AB's first attempt. In the curriculum, she is supposed to be doing the letter A.  But having never used a geoboard before, I just wanted her to explore with it.
 Letter matching
Listening to the ABC song and how to say the letter A sounds
Rubbing her finger on sandpaper letters
She was dancing to the Alphabet song
We were supposed to be practicing how to write the letter A but she preferred to play in it.  I will need to make a sand sensory box for her.
 Cooking in the kitchen

AB still has a hard time getting the stickers off of the sheet...
and off of her fingers.  Below are pictures of her getting really mad about it.

 Pattern blocks mats by Prekinders.
We have done these before but this time, she really like them!
Getting back into the habit of putting trays away when we are done
Dumping out the Easter sensory box that I still have out.

 Collecting eggs into the basket
 On a hunt for A's
She found 6 A's so I gave her 6 M&M's.  Here she is in her kitchen, eating them
Putting baby chicks into an egg
Putting eggs from a basket, into a measuring cup
 Looking for more eggs
Cooking eggs (for the record, she doesn't see me cook eggs this way)
Making sure she times her cooking!
 Cleaning up
Animal Match up from Homeschool Share. I made these for our car trip we just went on.  There are little velcro pieces in different corners of the pictures, to keep the matching picture attach.
She got out her felt numbers and was saying their names.
Which number is missing?  She did this!  I was surprised that she knew.
