We started off the week with some new activities.  First thing this morning, after we took a shower and got back into clean, warm pajamas, we got started.  I said previously that our learning was being done throughout the day.  But now, I want to start doing it first thing in the morning.  I concentrate in the following areas:

Math (shapes, number recognition, counting, patterns, etc)

Cognitive thinking (puzzles, shape sorters, pattern blocks, etc)

Literacy (reading, letter recognition and finger play songs)

Creative thinking/expression (art, dancing, singing, playing instruments, listening to music)

Health/wellness/physical development (gross motor, fine motor, washing hands, playing at the park, brushing teeth, etc)

social/emotional (playing with friends, talking about social ques, etc)

Here we go!  Finally some pictures:

Color sorting.  Our friend Danielle made this for AB.  I attribute this to AB learning and knowing 10 colors.  She can name and identify.
These are glass decorative rock things.  Danielle has them at her house and AB goes for them right away.  Santa put them in her stocking this past Christmas.  She did very well with the spoon.  Although, she eats with a spoon everyday, so it shouldn't be a surprise.
We have done something similar to this using noodles.
She then started just pouring them from bowl to bowl...
 And then used her hands.
This was very easy for her.  She did it for 10 seconds and then wanted to go back to transferring her "beads".  I really liked how she would say "yellow circle" or "blue square" when she put the shape down.
Practicing spelling her name and learning lower case letters.  I just let her do it.  She realized that the "e" was in the wrong place on her own and put it in the correct place. I showed her how to do it before I let her try.  This was a brand new activity.
Crayon rub...she wasn't impressed.  We'll try again tomorrow.  She wanted her "beads" again.

We also went to Chick-fil-a to eat and play with our friends.  Today was a special day as well.  It was our friend's birthday.  She turned the big 3!  By the way, we did get dressed before we went.  =)

  1. Hey Lady! I'm just curious where you get your ideas and if you have any recommendation for my daughter (she's an AB too). She just turned four. AB is soooo smart and cute as a button! :)

  2. I get all my ideas from pinterest. Are you on there? I can send you and invite, then go to my page and you can see all of the ideas. They come from other people who blog and teach their toddlers, like I'm doing. Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I'm doing!
